Graduation inquiry

Description: garaduation is you're chance plane out the year six's graduation we have made a photo booth and are finishing the year book 

It will be good for the future generation because they might look at the yearbook and know of all the awesome year six's that left school in 2015

We made a photo booth and I think that no one has thought about it for any of the graduation up till now

Writing post term3

Description:we had three taster of the three writing groups I chose words to spasificly descriptive ver witch is really really spasificly discribeing something.


Big idea: Wreck it ralph is a arcade game character.He wears a farmers cloke like thing and is strong as a gorilla.He wears a really really old red farmers cloke with a broken strap like thing and is a Villain but as well as good guy, in the arcade he is the biggest  and bulky like a bull and is awesomely awesome he is very dirty and dusty

Maths portfolio

Description:we have been learning about multiplication and division . In Kate b we have been learning n reverseaisability,rounding and compensating 

Big idea : one of the strategys I used was rounding and compensating Which is when you ad something something to make the question easy and once you've solved that question you take away the amount to solve the first question.
Another strategy I used is reverseaisability Which is when a times table you know to solve a division question

Descritpion for production we are doing wearable arts we have to make it out of stuf you would recycle  and our mane part is ora it is life in moari.had to chose one of these three topics and I chose heroes and villains.my inspiration was that I love cartoon and stuf about heroes.I used the building paper smok which is a long piece of paper with a head hole and I made a rocket launcher Carboard and plastic. I making a paper mashay masks itch news paper and wight paper

Big idea 
1) The materials that I used to create my garment was Carboard building paper plastic paint

2) The most challenging thing about production for me was.the planing

3) One way I demonstrated a growth mindset during production was. Being patient for stuff like the hot glue gun

4) Something I am really proud of about production was: my soared 

5) Our school vision is to create agency, creativity and excellence. I showed this by:I made some thing to hold my soard because every one else was holding the soard not hold it around there waste with something so I showed creativity by being unique

Summarising portfolio post

Distcription: my task was the story wheel. The story wheel is the eight most important parts of the story or article. My goal sumirseing, is shortening the artical. Summarising is also finding the key words in a story and you find the main parts not the unnecessary parts. We have been doing a story pyramid to find 1 to 7 words to describe the story. In our workshops we have been learning to note take which is either a few words or some pictures. 

Big idea:the story wheel helped me understand the article a lot more and improve my summarising and the video kind of helped me summarising.n

Description: Last term we had to choose our writing teacher you have to choose the teacher that you think you could improve on Troy is sentences Ebony is words and Elly is words I choose Troy because sentences was my goal to work 

Description: In our writing group we watched a video there was a rat that giant ears which was not normal and a boy and the boy had giant ears too and the video hardley had any talking or sounds.

Every week we learn about skills and movement that will help us play sports. This term’s focus has been around defense. We made a video showing some of the goals we have been practicing. I have highlighted the thing I think I have done well YELLOW and one thing I would like to work on PINK.

WALT: Defensive skills and movements
Success Criteria:defense
Body Movement
  • Weight on balls of feet
  • Feet shoulder width apart
  • Push hard off outside foot and go forwards to attack pass
  • Quick small feet, stay on balls of feet
  • Arms within confines of body
  • Land with a SBP
  • Body angled to see player and ball
  • Anticipate pass and player movement
  • Restrictive Marking
    Meet player as they start towards the ball/where they want to go
  • Head and eyes up, arms close to body to avoid obstruction/contact
  • Angle body so attacking player is ‘pushed’ away from where he/she wants to go
  • 0.9m from ball carrier

Evaluation: I think that I've improved since last term

Te Ahu a Turanga Noho Marae

Description:  In week 7, we had an overnight stay at the local Marie in Wood ville.  We were immersed in Maori culture and participated in a range of activities.  We set two goals to focus on during our stay.

Big Idea:  
1.  Did you achieve your goals?  How do you know? Yes I did and I know because I felt refreshed in the morning before I made breakfast and I woke up Ellerey in the morning

2.  What are you most proud of from the marae stay?  All the activities I did because I had a lot of fun

3.  What challenged you the most and why? When we where making the pancake cake because it looked like it was about to fall.

Story Telling

Purpose: create a story to share orally
Description: Oral storytelling is a Maori tradition. We have been planning our own story to tell on the Marae in Week 7.

Success Criteria:
  • Between 1 and 2 minutes long
  • Using your voice to make sounds effects
  • Using your whole body to make actions
  • Use your face to tell a story through facial expression
  • Knowing the story, knowing the setting
  • Get the picture into your listener’s head
  • Stay in character - keep your composure.
  • Audience participation
  • Unique and original (Hook your audience)


 what to do next time:

 to keep practice till it is stuck in my mind because when we recorded I kept forgetting cues I was nerves.

I did crow participation and it was within 1 to 2 minutes I put a picture into the

stuck video

We think that we can relate the message in this movie to our learning...Its like being stuck in our learning, we need to ask for help and we need to look for ways to solve the problem ourselves. We thought it would be fun to make our own movie to get this message across. We had 2 groups of criteria for our movie...
Criteria: (Content)
  • Video - 30 seconds long, time is limited. 
  • Scenario - Show someone being stuck and not using the ability to act. 
  • Clear Message - Short sharp clip. Can the watcher get the point of your video?
  • Unique - Coming up with something funny that gets a laugh from others. 
  • Time Passing - Do you need to show time passing in your clip to emphasise your message. 

Criteria: (Movie)
  • Light - Make sure the sun isn’t creating a hard to see clip. 
  • Voice Volume - Needs to be louder than other background volume eg Noise, Kids.
  • Frame - What’s in the frame to make your message obvious. 
  • Steady Hands - Make sure the camera is still. 
  • Individual Clips - Don’t do one continuous shot of 30 seconds. Make a range of short clips and join together.

My swimming Goals term 1

Diction: for next 5 weeks we are swimming 3 times a week.we want to set a S.M.A.R.T goal so we are focused on what we are learning

My goal is to learn freestyle.

You do it like this you brush your ear and hip every time it makes a circle I am going to do it by swimming sports. By practicing as hard as I can

Big idea: my goal is free style 

Evaluation:it is hard to remember to brush my legs every time macke a circle with my arms.
It was easy to kick my feet because I didn't have to remember to macke a circle with my hands and brush my legs.
